Help ease the growing demand for electricity
To match the increasing demand for electricity, Utah Power is making substantial investments in its electrical power system
and is offering customers a chance to be a part of the solution.
Cool Keeper helps reduce the electricity used for central air conditioning on a few hot summer afternoons, while enabling
customers to stay comfortable and balance the demand for energy. Enroll in the Cool Keeper program to make better of use the
existing electrical system and to help keep costs down.
Cool Keeper is offered to Utah residential and small commercial customers along the Wasatch Front
. Participants will earn a thank you credit
on their November bills for taking part.
Once you sign up, a device will be connected to your central air conditioner. On hot summer weekday afternoons when energy
demand soars, the Cool Keeper device receives a wireless signal. The signal tells the device to turn your air conditioner
off and on, coordinating your appliance with neighboring appliances in order to manage the electrical demand.
Working together, we can make the best use of energy resources and ensure a safe, reliable electric supply for Utah.
