CRESCENT CITY, Calif. — The Del Norte County Fairgrounds will be able to install a weatherproof handicapped lift for its board
room, thanks to a $5,000 grant from Pacific Power’s charitable arm, the PacifiCorp Foundation for Learning.
“The room isn’t ADA compliant, and it is used for a lot of meetings for the general public throughout the year,” said Randy
Hatfield, Del Norte County Fairgrounds CEO. “This grant from the PacifiCorp Foundation for Learning will allow us to complete
the upgrade and make our facility more accessible to everyone.”
The Del Norte Country Fairgrounds is a year-round facility for Crescent City residents, serving more than 125,000 visitors.
The county fair is held annually on the first weekend of August. For many, the fair is the highlight of the year – both in
terms of showing exhibits, but also for vendors, nonprofits, recreation and entertainment.
“This is a way we can step up and support this community,” said Monte Mendenhall, regional community manager for Pacific Power.
“We know this is the kind of donation that helps preserve the bonds of this community.”
