AUSTIN, Texas — PacifiCorp received recognition at the annual Green Power Leadership Awards as being among a select group
of organizations committed to advancing the development of the nation's green power market.
PacifiCorp, which operates in six western states as Pacific Power and Rocky Mountain Power, was honored for its Blue Sky program
at the the Tenth National Green Power Marketing Conference in Austin, Texas.
The Blue Sky program is ranked second in the nation in the number of customers signed up and third in the amount of renewable energy
purchased. More than 44,000 homes and businesses buy Blue Sky in Utah, Oregon, Washington, Wyoming, Idaho and California.
"We're delighted to see these utilities and municipalities demonstrating leadership in renewable energy markets with innovative
marketing and dedicated green power program development," said Douglas L. Faulkner, acting assistant secretary for Energy
Efficiency and Renewable Energy at the U.S. Department of Energy. "These organizations are leading by example and providing
significant support towards new renewable energy power plants across the country."
Awards were presented to almost 30 organizations that show leadership through purchasing renewable energy or creating innovative
supply options for consumers. Green Power Program of the Year, was presented to Austin Energy's GreenChoice Program.
