Rocky Mountain Power and SouthEastern Idaho Community Action Agency team up to provide assistance

SHELLEY, Idaho – Rocky Mountain Power and the SouthEastern Idaho Community Action Agency are launching their annual partnership to assist seniors, disabled individuals and low-income families through the Lend-a-Hand program. Donations from Rocky Mountain Power and its customers are used to help qualifying households meet their energy needs, primarily during the cold winter months.

Rocky Mountain Power customers are urged to look for donation envelopes included with their November electricity bills.

"This partnership has been very successful in providing assistance to many people faced with tough decisions about their basic needs," said Becky Eberle, Rocky Mountain Power program manager. "Our customers always have been very generous in their donations."

SouthEastern Idaho Community Action Agency distributes the funds raised through Lend-a-Hand directly to those who need assistance. During the 2005-2006 heating season, Lend-a-Hand donations from Rocky Mountain Power and its customers helped cover energy costs for 38 Idaho households in SouthEastern Idaho Community Action Agency’s service area.

"The Lend-a-Hand program makes a vital difference for people in our community," said SouthEastern Idaho Community Action Agency executive director/chief executive officer Deb Hemmert. "Donations from Rocky Mountain Power and its customers provide needed assistance for people facing difficult circumstances."

Donations to Lend-a-Hand can be made through donation envelopes included with November Rocky Mountain Power bills.
